Alden Civil "Boots" Abbott, 83, a long time resident of Moriarty, NM, passed away July 3, 2021, in Moriarty, NM. He was born December 27, 1937, in Chattanooga, TN, to the Late Johnnie "Elizabeth" (Smith) and Sterling Beerlee Abbott. "Boots" married Cindy Kay Sholtz on April 3, 1965, in Lafayette, GA.

Alden served in the National Guard and Army Reserves.

He was self employed in Tennessee and Georgia in his early years. Masonry on McDonalds restaurant, also concrete curbs on the McDonalds; a member of the Brick Layers Union from 1978 to 2021; worked for Bob Davis Masonry in Albuquerque, NM from 1978 to 1999; and self-employed Stone masonry after he retired in 1999.

"Boots" was a loving husband of 56 years, father, grandfather and friend. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents; two sons, Marty Abbott and Darryl Abbott; daughter in law, Tina Abbott; and granddaughter, Samantha Abbott.

Alden is survived by his wife, Cindy Kay, of 56 years; two sons, Brian Abbott and his wife, Martha, of Spokane, WA; and Phillip Wade Abbott of Moriarty, NM; one daughter, Eva Thurston-Brown and her husband, Chad, of Moriarty, NM; one sister, Barbara Gaddis; 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
