Wednesday morning, very suddenly as he was walking downtown, occured the death of John Trenham, from apoplexy. Mr Trenham had been in his usual health and started from his home on Elm Street to come down to the village and fell to the ground, where his neighbors carried him into the home of Rev. W S Dobbie, where he passed away. Mr Trenham was born at Lee Valley April 21, 1853, the son of the late Octavius Francis Trenham, his father being born in Womblton England, and his mother, a native of Turin. Mr Trenham was a pioneer in Leyden, having come to Talcottville when he was 21 years of age and living his entire life there until 5 years ago when he came to make his home with his daughter, Mrs Leroy Arthur in this village. Mr Trenham was married to Cora Elizabeth Spencer in Talcottville Christmas Day 1875, she having passed on eleven years ago. The deceased was a man of sterling character and kindly, quiet disposition. He had familiarly come to be called "Uncle John" by many friends and acquaintances. The following children survive: Miss Caroline of Talcottville, Mrs Clinton Seymour of Lowville, Miss Bonnie Bell of Syracuse, Mrs Leroy Arthur of this village, Arch Trenham of Talcottville, and Spencer Trenham of Boonville. The funeral was held Saturday at 12:30 from the Arthur home, Rev W S Dobbie officiating and from the Methodist Church, Talcottville at 1 o'clock with Rev W A Darling of Boonville officiating and Rev Dobbie giving the invocation at the church. Interment in Talcottville Cemetery.
