"John Edward Bryant, Sr, age 76, of Woodhaven, Michigan passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 at his residence.
Born on December 30, 1944 in Monroe, Michigan, he was the son of James and Alwilda (Burt) Bryant. On January 5, 1964 he married JoAnn Usher in Monroe, MI.
He was employed with Ford Motor Company as a Hi Lo Driver for 32 years until retiring in 2000.
John was a member of UAW Local 387. He enjoyed the retirement lunches, bowling, softball, and camping in his permanent trailer in Houghton Lake. His true love was spending time with his family and his church. John was well known for his famous baked beans and his love for washing dishes, a combination that his whole family states is a true fact!
John was preceded in death by his father, James Bryant, mother, Alwilda Bryant, son, Rodney Bryant Sr., brothers, James Bryant, Charles Bryant, sisters, Jennie Porter, Shirley Wagner, MaryAnn Eder, granddaughter, Marley Vert.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Bryant, son, John Bryant, Jr., son, David (Michele) Bryant, daughter, MaryAnn Bryant, daughter, Charlotte Williams, son, Rodney Bryant, Jr., son, Michael (Melissa) Bryant, 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, with one on the way, brother, Jepp (Sophie) Bryant, sister, Alwilda Bryant-Churchill.
Visitation will be held at Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Thursday, July 15, 2021 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Wick Road Baptist Church 21117 Wick Rd., Taylor, MI on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11:00 am. He will lie instate from 10:00 am until time of service. Pastor Lanny Phillips will officiate the service. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Monroe, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory are requested to Wick Road Baptist Church."
