Mary "Dean" Bradley, 72, of Safford passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 10, 2007, after an extended illness with COPD.

Dean was born in Progress, Texas, to Lee and Winnie Applin on Oct. 28, 1935, the second of four daughters.

At age 10, her family moved to Morenci, where her father worked for Phelps Dodge Copper Company. She graduated from Morenci High School in 1954 and began working at Valley National Bank in Clifton.

Two years later, she married George Bradley, her husband of 48-1/2 years, and resided in Clifton until 1979, when she transferred to the Safford Valley National Bank office.

She retired from Valley National Bank after 26-1/2 years of service and continued to reside in Safford until her death. Over the years, she had the opportunity to work at all the Valley National Bank offices in Greenlee and Graham counties.

She was a devoted member of First Southern Baptist Church in Thatcher until her illness prevented her from attending.

Dean is preceded in death by her husband, George Bradley.

She is survived by her children, Sheryl (John) Campbell of Tucson and Gerald Bradley of Safford; her three grandchildren, Jennifer, Jonathan and Jessica Campbell of Tucson; and her three sisters, Lottie Enrico and Jane Applin of Safford and Margaret (Tom) Sharp of Coleman, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Mt. Graham Hospice, 1600 S. 20th Ave., Building E, Safford, AZ 85546.

These people provided great care for Dean so that she could remain comfortable at home during the last months of her illness. This organization has a wonderful group of people serving this community. Thank you, Mt. Graham Hospice, for all you did for Dean and her family.

Services were held at First Southern Baptist Church in Thatcher at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, with viewing one hour prior. A graveside service followed at the Safford Cemetery.
