Dr. Billy Carl Walker, 84 of Dallas, Texas passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021. He was born Aug. 19, 1937 in Monterey to the late Oscar Lonzo Walker and Nannie Ellen Walker. He was a 1955 graduate of Monterey High School.
In 1961, he graduated with a degree in Theology from the Bible College in Arlington, Texas, and became Pastor of the Edgewood Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. He wrote a book entitled "Are These the Last Days" while a pastor.
In 1965 after moving to Dayton, Ohio, his brother, Dr. Op Walker, convinced him to seek a degree in the Health Sciences. While studying at the University of Tennessee College of Health Science, he ranked number one in a class of 100 students and was elected President of Rho Chi Honor Society.
While in college, he invented "Face Lift," a product that became successful. He received his B.S. in 1969 and his doctorate in 1975. In August 1977, he was present at the autopsy of Elvis Presley by invitation. Among his many accomplishments were being an airplane pilot and licensed yacht captain up the east coast.
He is survived by his wife: Michele of Dallas; daughter: Sara Walker of Colorado; sister: Edith Walker Patterson of Monterey; brother: Dr. Op Walker (Kay) of Cookeville; sister-in-law: Peggy Walker of Monterey; granddaughter: Beth Roberts; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and his stepchildren: Beth, Kathy and Rebecca.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: John Baisley Walker; four brothers: Jim Bohannon, Ben Bohannon, C.M. Bohannon and Oscar E. Walker; five sisters: Winnie Walker, Opal Gann, Geneva Foster, Linnie Bohannon and Ruby Tayes; and his stepson, Eddie.
