Mrs. Martha Ellett Whitaker, 86, died last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Hagler of New Hope.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. today from the New Hope Methodist Church with the Rev. Sebe Keel and the Rev. W. I. Baber officiating. Burial was in the Hayden Cemetery, directed by Butler Brothers Funeral Home.
Mrs. Whitaker is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Hagler; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one brother, U. D. Ellett of Gadsden; one sister, Mrs. Lillie Herrin of Shreveport, LA.
Active pallbearers were George Butler, Walter Harless, Clint Freeman, Tom Butler, Roy Dilworth and James Ikard.
Honorary pallbearers include R. D. Rivers, A. H. Butler, B. D. Howard Sr., Tom Ikard, John Ikard, Jack Ikard, J. C. Wakefield, Wannie Thomas, Dr. J. A. Carpenter, Dr. J. L. Carpenter and Joe Click.
