Dr. Jameson, 75, dentist in Waverly for 30 years
A mass of Christian burial for Dr. Joseph A. Jameson, a retired dentist who practiced in Waverly, will be offered at 10 A.M. tomorrow at St Mary's Church, 5500 York road, in Govans. Dr. Jameson, who was 75 and lived at 303 Winston avenue, died Friday at St Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, PA, of heart failure. Born in Bryantown, MD, Dr. Jameson attended the Leonard Hall Academy. He moved to Baltimore in the early 1920's to attend the University of Maryland dental school Upon graduation from dental school in 1927, Dr. Jameson began practice that continued until 1971. For the last 30 years of his practice, he worked in Waverly. Dr. Jameson was a member and past officer of the Izaak Walton League. He was also a hunter and fisherman. For many years he belonged to the Optimist Club, and through that club worked with Little League teams. Dr. Jameson is survived by his wife of 43 years, the former Orabelle Smoot; a daughter, Mrs. JoAnn Torrence, of Bethlehem, Pa.; a son, Joseph R. Jameson, of Timonium; a sister, Mrs. Viola Estep, of Charlotte Hall, Md., and three grandchildren.
