On both the 1900 Census, Paragould, Greene County, Arkansas, and the 1910 Census, Rector West Ward, Clay County, Arkansas, it was stated that Mary Barry had borne four children and that four were living. The couple had one son and three daughters, namely, Frank Augustus Barry, Lillian Barry, Jessie Barry, and Ruth Barry.

"Augustus Barry Dead.
News has reached the city of the death at Paragould, Ark., of Augustus Barry, brother of Kirk Barry and of Mrs. Jesse Gilbert, of this city. He was also a brother of Judge Eli Barry, of Benton, who went to Paragould in response to a telegram announcing his brother's death.
Mr. Augustus Barry was 60 [sic-65] years of age and was born in Marshall county. He was engaged in the grocery business for a long while at Benton, and went to Paragould five years ago. He left a wife and four children, and two other sisters besides Mrs. Gilbert, Mrs. Eley [sic-Ely], of Clay Switch, and Mrs. Hunt[er], of Leesburg, Fla. He was well known in Paducah."
