Born in Altoona, he was the son of the late Lester J. Jr. and Mary Jane (Davis) Guyer. He married Helen L. Slowik Oct. 1, 1983, at St. Mary's in Altoona.
Les is survived by his wife, Helen; two sons: Joshua D. and girlfriend, Crystal Henderson, stationed with the Navy at Pax River, Md., and Matthew L. and wife, Tia, at home; four brothers: Gary L of Cumberland, Md., Gerald L. of Cresson, Dennis F. of Akron, Ohio, and David J. of Sharon, S.C.; a sister, Debra K. Fagans of Duncansville; and two grandchildren: Maliki Atreal and Cadynce Marie.
Mr. Guyer was a 1974 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.
He was a self-employed musician, retiring in 1998. He loved playing the drums. He played for many local bands, including Spectrum, Afterdark, Sunrise, ACE of Hearts and many others. Les enjoyed spending time with is grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, and 10 to the 11 a.m. service Wednesday, Sept. 26, officiated by Pastor John D. Leatherman, at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home Inc., 1218 Fourth Ave., Duncansville (www.LiebegottBrown.com). Committal at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.
