Louis William Henry Neebe (NAY-beh) was the son of German immigrants Heinrich Neebe (1820-Oct. 28, 1898, Chicago) and Martha Prack (1824-Apr. 5, 1908, Chicago). Louis married Eliza "Lisette" Meier (1852-1937) at Manhattan, New York, December 25, 1869, and was working as an insurance agent in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1870 (1870 US Census). He then relocated to Chicago, Illinois, where he was a printer, publisher, stationer, insurance agent, notary public, and steamship and railroad agent serving primarily the German immigrant community in and around Chicago (1880, 1900, 1910 US Census). Louis died at Chicago September 22, 1911, and was buried in Graceland Cemetery.
