Wilma Elaine Kagarise 72 of Mancelona died July 15, 2021 at home. She was born October 29, 1948 in Lansing the daughter of William and Helen (Willis) Lindsay.
Wilma was the consummate care giver. She worked most of her life in health care and loved her job! She graduated from Alpena Community College in 1974 with an LPN, Kirkland Community College in 1989 with an RN, University of North Dakota in 1998 with her PA. Taking care of people made her happy.
She loved the Lord and had a deep faith. Wilma went on 2 medical mission trips to Africa to help and serve those in need. She enjoyed traveling in general and was able to take a trip to Ireland too. Wilma also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving are her children Mischele (Patrick Sherrill) Kagarise, Christine (William) Shepard, Sarah (Tige) Rose, sister Susan Perkins, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Kagarise, parents, sister Wanda Barston, inlaws Marion and Charles Kagarise and several other friends and family members.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona. Memorial contributions can be given to The Care Team (formerly Intelicare Hospice), 441 S. Main Street Suite 4, Standish, MI 48658.
Arrangements have been handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
