Benjamin Wiedmeyer, 70, formerly of rural West Bend but of rural Waldo for the last 27 years, died Monday after a long illness.
He was born May 9, 1890 in the town of Trenton, Washington County. He lived there until his marriage Nov. 11, 914, to Martha Schmitz when they settled on a farm in the Town of Farmington. His wife preceded him in death Jan. 5, 1929.
Survivors are two sons, Vincent and Giles, both of R. 1, Jackson: three daughters, Mrs. Sylvester (Clarinda) Jaeger of R. 4, West Bend, Mrs. Howard (Marie) Davis of Sparta and Mrs. Harvey (Bernadine) Kuehl of Milwaukee: 16 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Frances Gundrum of Slinger, Mrs. Christian Schneider of R. 2 West Bend, Mrs. Paul Wilger of Athens and Mrs. Henry Jansen of R. 5, West Bend; four brothers, Anton of Milwaukee, Frank of Juneau, Pious of West Bend and Ambrose of R. 1, West Bend.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michaels's Catholic Church in St. Michael's following family rites at 8:45 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend. The Rev. Matthew Urban will be celebrant of the requiem Mass and burial will be in the church cemetery.
