Katherine Elizabeth Peiguss (nee Yarnell), age 70 of Cedar Lake, IN passed away July 16,2021. She is survived by her daughter, Sue (Vince) Romans and grandson Liam Romans of Cedar Lake, IN; She is survived by her siblings, Sandra Jarrell (Tampa, FL),Robert (Ali) Yarnell (Issaquah, WA), Donald Yarnell (Crown Point, IN), James(Bernie) Yarnell (Leiden,The Netherlands), Debra (John) Krzyston (Noblesville, IN); and her nieces, Katherine (Kathy). She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Peiguss; son, Gregory Peiguss; and parents, Robert & Elizabeth Yarnell.

Friends and family may gather in a celebration of Kathy's life on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Burdan Funeral Home located at 12901 Wicker Ave, Cedar Lake, IN 46303 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A service will be held at 6:30 PM in the Burdan Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial for Katherine will be 10:00 am Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Memory Lane Cemetery, Schererville, IN.

Katherine (Kathy) was one of 6 siblings who grew up in Crown Point, IN and was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic Community School and Crown Point High School in Crown Point, IN. For many years, Kathy worked for her father who was an Accountant in Hammond, IN. Kathy was a private person who was very loving, caring, generous and selfless. She would always think of others first before herself and was THE BEST Nana to Liam, a mom, a wife , a sister and an aunt. Kathy was an avid Lionel train collector along with her grandson Liam. Trains were a huge part of her life! Together, Kathy and Liam would go to local train stores and train events to find the best deals and coolest trains for their layouts they built and ran at home. Kathy was also an avid rail fan and enjoyed watching trains with her grandson Liam in Chesterton, IN and also along Route 12 (South Shore & Norfolk Southern trains).
