Secondborn child of James W. Jacobs and Mary J. (Falk) Jacobs, she was raised in the New York area. She was a 1942 graduate of the Fairmont State Teachers College in Fairmont, WV. On Feb. 16, 1945, Jeanette married Charles William Anderson in Arlington, VA. They had two boys (living in 2021). She later married widower Joseph Phillip Matthews. She had been employed by the U.S. Post Office. Her later years found her residing in North Beach, MD where she was living at the time of her death.
