From the Coweta Co. Chronicles pg. 635-6: He was a first son. Graduated in medicine from school in Lexington, Ky. in 1833. Moved to Fayetteville, Ga. in 1835 and Coweta Co., Ga. in 1843. He had to "grapple with the worst forms of disease." His practice was over three counties. Member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South for over 50 years. His memorial was written by son-in-law James Hunnicut and is on page 634 as published in the Wesleyan Christian Advocate Jan. 20, 1886.
