Spokane native Phil Pizelo completed his final journey to be with the Lord January 6, 2005. Phil was born January 19, 1934. He graduated from Gonzaga Prep and from Gonzaga University. He taught at North Central for one year before taking a position at Fairchild School. A year later he began a career with the Postal Service that spanned 37 years culminating with his retirement in 1989. He was the Director of Human Resources for the Spokane MSC for 10 years. He was an accomplished gardener with his own green house for 14 years. Phil was quite the history buff and prided himself on his ability to remember historical and geographic facts. Phil enjoyed traveling and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marie, his four sons and their wives: Tony and Trish, Paul and Liz, Mark and Karen, Mike and Jeanie and his five grandchildren all of Spokane. Phil is also survived by three siblings. Dr. Angelo Pizelo of Oakhurst, CA, Jim Pizelo and Sister Ann Pizelo both of Spokane.
