Raymond Bryon Allen 95, of Glendale, Arizona, died on January 28, 2021 at Morningstar Assisted Living in Glendale.

Raymond was born on January 12, 1926 in Corning, Kansas, the son of Elton and Nora Helen Capsey Allen.

His family farmed in and around Soldier in Nemaha County, and he grew up in a household with four boisterous brothers and loving parents. He helped his father on a 400-acre farm, helping him raise corn, oats. sorghum and cattle. Ray drove a six-horse team and a 1 ½ ton truck. He helped repair farm machinery and farm buildings. Also, while home he broke two mules and ten horses to ride and for work.

Raymond was a WWII veteran. On April 15, 1946 Raymond entered the U.S. Army at Smokey Hill AAF Base in Salina, Kansas; and on October 14, 1947 he was discharged at the rank of PFC at Fort Riley, Kansas.

Raymond married Dorothy Lucille Olberding in Seneca on April 24, 1948. He farmed in Centralia, Kansas until 1953 when Raymond, Lucille, and their children moved to Colorado. They were happily married until 2007, when Lucille passed away.

Raymond was a sports fan and loved attending high school football games. More than anything, Raymond loved spending time with his family. His recent 95th birthday was celebrated in a large Zoom gathering with all the family.

Besides his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by brothers, William "Boyd" Allen, Harvey Allen, Raymond Allen and Donald Allen.

Raymond is survived by his four children and their spouses, Larry and Ann Allen, Dan and Kathleen Allen, Terry and Lisa Allen and Connie and Max Strain; a brother, Martin Allen (Judy) of Highland, KS eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

Raymond was dearly loved by all of his family and friends and his caregivers at Morningstar Assisted Living in Glendale, AZ.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Peter and Paul Church in Seneca, at 10:00 a.m. on July 24, 2021. Burial will be in the church cemetery with a luncheon reception to follow.
