Cassie was born to John Billedeau and Kerry Marter Billedeau in Kenner, Louisiana. Between John and Kerry, they already had four girls: Stephanie, Nekole, Kimberly and Ashley. Cassie would forever be the baby sister.
At age sixteen she had her only child, a daughter.
She graduated from Bonnabel High School in Kenner, Louisiana.
After Hurricane Katrina battered New Orleans and surrounding neighborhoods, Cassie made her way to New York City. She did what all young people do: pick up side jobs while trying to make it in the Big Apple. One of her dreams was to be an actress, so she attended The William Esper Studio. She modeled throughout the years and taught Pilates classes.
In 2016 she married Michael Stratton, a native of Colorado. He was a Democratic political strategist. Together, they traveled the world.
In 2017, Michael and Cassie rented a condominium in the Champlain Towers South building in Surfside, FL. From that location, they discovered the sites of Miami, she produced content for her blog and in 2020/21 they weathered the COVID lockdown.
On the night of June 24, 2021, Cassie was on the balcony of apartment #410 watching in horror as the swimming pool below sank. She was speaking with her husband, describing what she saw and then the phone went dead.
Cassie was recovered on July 10, 2021. She is survived by her husband, Michael, daughter, Ariana Hevia, mother, Kerry Billedeau, half-sisters, Ashley, Stephanie and Necole and step-sons, Matt and Sam. She was predeceased by her father and half-sister, Kimberly Jean Irwin.
Her funeral was held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 with inurnment at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery,∼CASSONDRA BILLEDEAU-STRATTON

Billedeau-Stratton loved walking and biking along the beach, her sister, Stephanie Fonte, told the New York Times. When the sisters were together, she often would make them pose for photos on the beach or near a burst of flowers.
Michael Stratton said he and his wife were talking on the phone when the building collapsed.
"She described that the building was shaking and then … the phone went dead," he said.
