Former Policeman In Chester Is Taken
James H. Allison, former city policeman of Chester, died Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the home of his son, Harvey Allison, 141 Carolina ave., following a five-week illness. He was 92. He resided in Chester for the last 45 years. He was a constable for 25 years, a Hancock county Republican committeeman for a number of terms and served for two terms as the city sergeant. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Herman McLain of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Frank Wern of New Cumberland. Rites will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Arner funeral home in Chester by Rev. Milton Gladden, pastor of the Chester Methodist church. Interment will be in Locust Hill cemetery. Friends may call tonight at the funeral home.
