Elizabeth A. Bailey, age 87, of Richmond, formerly of Bluewell, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2007 in Richmond.

She was the widow of Charles M. Bailey and was preceded in death by her son, Wilbert Beckelheimer.

She is survived by her grandson, Carl E. Beckelheimer, Sr. and his wife Deborah of Sandston; and great-grandchildren, Carl E. Beckelheimer, Jr., Richard I. Beckelheimer, and Crissa D. Beckelheimer; and a daughter in law, Juanita Beckelheimer.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell. Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Princeton.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the Bailey family.

Elizabeth Ann "Lizzie" Adkins was born on January 30, 1920, in Mercer, West Virginia, her father, William Adkins, was 62, and her mother, Maggie Jane Poole Duncan Adkins, was 33. She married Mason Monroe Becklehiemer on September 17, 1934. They had one son together, Wilbert Monroe Becklehiemer (b. 1935). She filed for divorce for desertion in Giles County, Virginia and was granted a decree on September 17, 1942. It shows that they have been separated since 1936. She then married Charles Maiden Bailey on July 20, 1943, in Kay, Oklahoma. They were married until his death on December 23, 1994. They never had any children. She died on November 8, 2007, in Richmond City, Virginia, at the age of 87, and was buried in Princeton, West Virginia.
