CHICAGO -- Funeral services were held Monday in Chicago for Fred L. Abelseth, Sr., 62, formerly of Valparaiso, who died Friday morning in his home in Chicago after suffering an apparent heart seizure.
Burial was in Arlington cemetery, near Chicago.
He was born Feb. 12, 1902.
Surviving are his widow, the former Edith Bond of Valparaiso, now residing in Chicago; one sister, Mrs. Arthur Gratton, Valparaiso; two sons, Fred L. Abelseth, Jr., 1708 Napoleon, Valparaiso, and Victor Abelseth, Chicago; one daughter, Mrs. (Arthur) Betty Butler, Chattanooga, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren.
