BIOGRAPHY and OBITUARY
Owain son of Maredudd Welsh Owain ap Maredudd died c. 811 and he was king of Dyfed who briefly ruled at the beginning of the 9th century. He ruled after his brother Rhain and before his nephew Triffyn. His death was noted by the undated Annals of Wales.

The genealogies of subsequent kings of Dyfed include Tangwystl who was a daughter of Owain's and whose own marriage justified the rule of their families dynasty. The Annales Cambriae which is in Latin for The Annals of Wales is the title given to a complex of Cambro Latin chronicles compiled from diverse sources at Saint David's in Dyfed of Wales. This book has the death of Owain son of Maredudd who had died in c 811 and the fortress of Degannwy is listed as being struck by lightning and burnt in c 812. Information of ancient latin books.
