In the evening hours of July 13, 2021, our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Joyce "Jonell" Crews was called home from this earthly life into eternal life to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Joyce was born to the late Lacy and Clois Wadlington in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on June 25, 1953. She was married to Carl Crews on October 8, 1974. Joyce received her public education in Hopkinsville, and accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Morris Baptist Church.

After her marriage to Carl, they relocated to Nathalie, VA. and later to Roanoke, VA. She continued her spiritual worship by attending High Street Baptist Church whenever possible. She was employed by Macy's Department Stores for 18 years. Joyce was a kind, fun-loving lady and enjoyed talking and laughing with the people she met. She was a caregiver for her mother Mrs. Clois for many years and for her husband Carl until her own health declined.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 47 years, Carl Crews, her daughter Shannon Brown, of Brooklyn, NY, her son Skyy Crews, of Roanoke, VA. Her sister Lucy (Otis) Matlock of Hopkinsville, KY, her brother Robert Odell (Jackie) Wadlington of Melbourne, FL. Four grandchildren, Dijon, Marshan, Tymar, and Richter, special friends Rebecca Crews and Valerie Dillion, and a host of special nieces and nephews, Joseph, Bruce, Eric, Lee, Missy, Sandra, Felicia, Kevin, Cristal, Kenya, baby Olivia and other relatives and friends.

Her funeral service was held at 11 am Saturday, July 17, at Serenity Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight O. Steele, Sr. officiating and delivering the eulogy. Interment will be held in Cave Spring Cemetery in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

A funeral service will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Serenity Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in Kentucky.
