Albert came into Oklahoma Territory in May, 1889, from Iowa to join his Uncle, Charles Franklin Keeney, who had made the 1889 Oklahoma Land Run in April, 1889. He was the son of John Oliver Keeney (1833-1911) and Melissa Jane (Lucy) Gooch (1835-1911). Albert A Keeney is listed on the First Territorial Census of Oklahoma in 1890 and was living with his Uncle Charles Franklin Keeney and family on page 5 at 47 Sixth Street, Oklahoma City. Albert went into the plaster business with his uncle and remained a plasterer by trade the rest of his life, as noted on his death certificate, which was informed by his daughter, Pearl Edna Keeney (Mrs. Earnest Buchanan) Together with his Uncle Charles, they did plastering of some of the original buildings in Oklahoma City. Albert married Addie Keefer on 26 Nov 1900 in Pottowatomie County, Oklahoma, and they were the parents of only one child, Pearl Edna Keeney (1903-1977).
