Alma Johana Uhrhammer was born on December 15, 1913 to Herman and Dora (Kramer) Uhrhammer on a farm in Martin County, Minnesota. She received her education in country school in Martin County. Alma then was employed for Gen Wartman in her store in Monterey, Minnesota. On May 23, 1962 she was united in marriage to Byron Johnson at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Mankato, Minnesota. After their marriage they owned and operated Johnson Mercantile Store in Trimont until 2003 when they retired after sixty-two years. Alma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Trimont. She greatly enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and knitting. She has made about a dozen baby Afghans. She also belonged to the Monterey Garden Club.

Alma died on Saturday morning, November 17, 2007 at the Trimont Health Care Center in Trimont, Minnesota at the age of ninety-three years.

Survivors include her husband, Byron Johnson of Trimont, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Boyd Johnson and his wife, Helen, of Worthington, Minnesota; nieces and nephews; cousins, especially Ardis Meyenburg of Fairmont, Minnesota; close friends, Jim and Shirley Guetzkow of Trimont, Minnesota; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, brother, Lester Uhrhammer and other relatives and friends.
