Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 15,1991 at 2:30pm at the Gridley Block Funeral Chapel for H.A. "Mack" McSweeney, 85, who died on November 12, 1991 at the Hovlid Community Center in Gridley following a long illness.
He was born on February 27, 1906 in Long Pine, Nebraska and had lived in Gridley for the past 12 years, having moved here from Idaho.
He was a carpenter for more than 40 years. He also had operated a dairy and worked at a creamery for a number of years. He was a member of the Gridley Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia McSweeney of Gridley; two daughters, Patricia Brake of Rupert, Idaho and Sheila Dawson of Smith River, CA; one son, Gerald Hathaway of West Jordan, UT; two brothers, Howard McSweeney of Santa Cruz and Walter McSweeney of Modesto; three sisters, Mary Louise Campbell of Gridley, Edith Gorman of San Diego, and Pat Maxian of Palo Cedro, CA; 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Rev. Bobb Gowen of the Chico Church of Christ will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Gridley Biggs Cemetery.
