Fred Wayne ‘Bud' McCormack

Fred W. "Bud" McCormack, 81, of Dora passed away Friday, May 18, 2007, at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 21, in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Edward Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in McCormack Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

McCormack was a retired Assembly of God minister and pastor for more than 50 years. He was a founding member of the former Canaan Assembly of God in Sumiton. He pastored Graysville and Margaret Assemblies of God as well as serving as associate pastor for the past 20 years at Cordova Assembly of God. He was a retired millright from U.S. Steel and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A.B. and Hazel McCormack.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Kay Tate and Paula McCormack White, both of Dora; grandchildren, Wayne C. Mangrum and his wife, Shanda, of Sipsey, Billy Joe Mangrum and his wife, Angela, of Sumiton, and Amanda Leslie Tate of Dora; great-grandchildren, Jackson Riley Mangrum and Kayla Elizabeth Mangrum; aunts, Katherine Tombrell and Odie Shephard; several nieces and nephews.
