Barbara Louise Stearns, age 89, of Huntington Beach, CA passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Barbara was born March 26, 1932 in California.

Funeral service held Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park - Gate #17, Hillcrest Terrace Tent, Whittier, CA.

Harward A. Stearns "Hal" Barbara L. Stearns Hal Stearns died at age 88 on December 18, 2020 and his wife Barbara age 89 followed him 7 months later. Hal was born on August 3, 1932 to Ward and Harriet Stearns in New York. Barbara was born on March 26, 1932 to Kenneth and Zelma Auge in Los Angeles. They met at church camp for young adults in their college years in 1953. They long distance dated for several years until Barbara completed her BA in Music at UCLA. They were married on June 24, 1955 and Barbara joined Hal in Palo Alto until he completed his degree in Law at Stanford University. They later moved to Whittier California where Hal begin to practice Law. Throughout their 63 years in Whittier they both remained active in the community. Hal was very active in the Lions Club; he served on several School District Boards of Educations for over 25 years; He served on the Board of Directors of the Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation, Whittier Historical Society, The Intercommunity Blind Center to name a few. Both he and Barbara were active in Whittier Presbyterian Church for many years. Hal was the founding partner of Stearns, Gross, Moore and Rusch legal firm in Whittier until his retirement at the age of 70. When not engaged in community service he enjoyed the Angels Baseball team and travel. Barbara supported Hal through all his activities and they raised 3 children. She remained active in her children's activities: Boy Scouts, campfire Girls, Swim team, and family taxi driver to name a few. In the later years she was able to enjoy activities near to her heart: Mu Phi Epsilon Music Fraternity, The Friendly Hills Women's Club, The Book Club and the Dirt Diggers Garden Club. She was active in leadership roles in all these activities. Both enjoyed travel and visited over 70 countries by land, sea and air. One of their favorite pastime activities was planning and researching their next trip. They are survived by their daughter Diana Egan and her two adult children Kimberly and Michelle Egan, son Gregory Stearns and his two adult sons Robert and Nicholas Stearns, daughter-in-law Areli Stearns and great grandson Aiden. Their son Lloyd Stearns passed away in 2002. Services were held for Hal in January 2021. Services for Barbara will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier on August 14, 2021 at 11:00 am.
