Addie Lou Lanier Hancock, a native of Baton Rouge, LA and a resident of Denham Springs, LA, passed away on July 30, 2021 at the age of 97. Addie Lou was a graduate of Walker High School where she played basketball for the school. Addie Lou went on to marry William "Bill" Hancock Sr. and raise her 3 children. She worked at the LSU Bookstore for many years until she eventually retired. She was an avid traveler, going all through the states and out of country. Addie Lou is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of the American Legion of Denham Springs. She is survived by her son, William Joseph Hancock Jr.; daughter, Mary Lou Garrett (Wayne); granddaughters, Anya Denee Garrett Victor (Joe) and Andria Renee Hancock Yates (Jason); great-grandson, Lance Fisher Yates; great-granddaughter, Natalie Elizabeth Victor; brother, Donald Lanier (Lois); and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, William Joseph Hancock Sr.; son, Bobby Roy Hancock; parents, John S. Lanier and Geneva McDowell Lanier; sisters, Camille Stafford, Lois Anderman, Quinnie May Tyler, Lorena Flethcher, Etta Bozeman, Lora Cutrer, Janie Carroll, Verna Theriot, and Kay Fairburn; brothers, Huey Lanier, A.S. "Jr." Lanier, and John Henry Lanier; and daughter-in-law, Carol Ann Daigle Hancock.
