Radio personality, DJ. One of the first African American sports announcers on radio. Born in Charleston, S.C. to Eugene and Laura Jackson. His parents died while he was at a young age and he grew up in Washington, D.C. Owner of WLIB-AM, the first African American owned radio stations in New York City. He was the first African American to be inducted in the National Radio Hall of Fame. Host of the WLIB-FM radio show "Sunday Classics with Hal Jackson".
