Gerald "Jerry" LeClaire, age 83, of Rock, passed away Saturday evening, January 27, 2018, at Christian Park Village in Escanaba. Gerald was born December 10, 1934, in Escanaba, the son of Dona and Ada (Belanger) LeClaire. He was raised in Rock and was a 1953 graduate of Rock High School. Following high school, Gerald was drafted into the United States Army where he served in Germany until his honorable discharge. On November 30, 1963, he was united in marriage to the former Leta June Polsgrove-Lacy at St. Mary Catholic Church in Flint, and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Flushing, MI. Jerry was the superintendent for Genesee County Road Commission until his retirement in 1986. Jerry and Leta then returned to the Upper Peninsula where they have resided in Rock since. He then took a postion as a bus driver for Mid-Peninsula school district, where he was loved and respected. His hobbies included, spending time outdoors hunting, feeding his pet deer, making maple syrup, gardening, playing cards and was an avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan. Additionally, he loved to spend time with his family and will be deeply missed by all.
