Almira Catherine WICKS was born in 1836 in Pottawattamie County, Iowa. Her father was Stutely Wicks (1812-1865) and her mother was Catherine Muller Wicks (1814-1881) who was of Ojibwa/Potawatomi descent. Almira was a twin with Alsina (Wicks) Felthauser.

She married Albrecht (Albert) WORTH (1840-1866) in 1864 and they had one daughter together, Virginia A. Worth.

After the death of her first husband, she married William Cyrus BAYLIS (1843-1921) in 1868 and they had five known children together: Charles W, Priscilla T, Cyrus William, Laura Isabelle, Idwillda R (Wilda).

She died in 1896, in Shawnee County, Kansas, at the age of 59. Burial is most likely on her allotment southeast of Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
