Elsie Larson was born November 8, 1871 in the little country town of Manna, Denmark. She died at the home of her son, Arthur, in Kimballton on October 25, 1956 at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 16 days.
She came to this country at the age of 20 and married Chris Andersen December 26, 1892. To this union 3 children were born.
They lived in Warren, Penn. until 1912 when they came to Iowa and settled near Cuppy's Grove.
Twelve years ago they moved to Elk Horn where she resided until the death of her husband in 1955, she has made her home with her son Arthur since then.
She was a member of the Lutheran church.
She is survived by three sons, Arthur L. of Kimballton, Harold C. of Guppy's Grove and Gilbert of Grabill, Ind.; three grandsons, five granddaughters, also one brother in California, one brother and one sister in Denmark.
Services were held at the Immanuel Lutheran church in Harlan, Monday afternoon, October 29, 1956 with Rev. Lyle Paulsen officiating. The Berthusen funeral home in Avoca was in charge of arrangements.
Burial was in the Cuppy's Grove cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wallace Knudsen, Roy H. Christiansen, Raymond P. Barton, Ted Sorensen, Gerald Malick and Victor L. Christensen.
