Our father, A. Philip Lima passed away on January 22, 2005 after a courageous battle with diabetes. Our dad was an avid "old" Yankee fan who enjoyed gardening, refinishing furniture and spending time with his grandchildren. He volunteered his time and energies helping children. He was a former coach and manager in the Stony Point Little League, past president of the North Rockland Central School District Board of Education and was a founding member of Our Lady of Solace C.Y.O. in the Bronx. He also enjoyed the time he and our mom spent as members of The Stony Point Senior Citizens. We, the family are comforted in knowing that he has joined our mother in eternal rest. He is survived by his children and their spouses: John J. and Barbara Lima, Philip and Karen Lima, Nancy D. and Ed Faust, Gregg S. Lima and Lori Irizzary; his grandchildren, John and Jennifer Lima and Matthew Lima and their mother Eileen R. Lima, Matthew and Katherine Wall, Eric Faust, Christopher and Michael Lima, Josh, Cody and Alyssa Irizzary, and the joy of his life, his great-granddaughter, Isabella Rose Lima. Survivors also include his sister Yolanda and brother-in-law Frank Magazu, their children, Anthony and Frank Magazu and grand-nephew, Frank Nicholas, his godson, Joseph and his wife Patricia Orapello, their son Joseph and his wife Karen Orapello and their son Joseph. His wife of 55 years, Mary Dorothy Orapello Lima, his mother and father Domenica and John Lima, and his brother John Lima predeceased him. Vieiwing will be held at the Edward C. Finn Funeral Home located at East Main Street in Stony Point, New York on Wednesday, January 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at The Immaculate Conception Church on John St. in Stony Point, New York on Thursday, January 27, 2005 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, New York. In lieu of flowers, the Lima family requests that donations be made to The American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2787, North Canton Ohio, 44720.
