Professor und Director der Maler-Academie in Leipzig. Painter, etcher, and sculptor. Teacher of Goethe and Carl Lebrecht Crusius. He did most of the paintings for St. Nicolai church in Leipzig.
Note: He was first buried here and was exhumed on March 13th, 1867 when the vault was filled with soil and was reburied in Section IV, grave Nr. 2204 on New St. Johns, where he still lies.
