Norman Eugene "Strawberry" Bowen, Sr., 81, of Jamesville died Monday, April 11, 2016, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

Born October 15, 1934 in Washington County he was the son of the late Clarence Eugene "Monk" Bowen and Ethel Mae Norman Bowen. Strawberry was a retired security guard with Weyerhaeuser Corporation and member of First Christian Church.

His family includes his wife, Sandra Rae Perry Bowen of Jamesville, N.C.; daughter, Norma Jean Mullenax of Charleston, West Virginia; son, Norman Eugene Bowen, Jr. of Jamesville, N.C.; sister, Sarah Ann Wildman of Plymouth, N.C.; brother, Clarence Tracy Bowen of Plymouth, N.C.; grandchildren, Dalton Cole Devita and Wyatt Olen Mullenax.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Bob Moulden and Gene Waters officiating. Family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home following the service and other times at the residence.

Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
