"Mrs. Lucy Strouse, 74, Missouri Native, Dies
Mrs. Lucy Belle Strouse, 74, of 2675 N. Church St., died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lynne Ernst, of 2294 N. Union St., at 10:30 a.m. today. She had been ill for some time.
Mrs. Strouse, a native of Independence, Mo., had lived in the Decatur community since coming to Macon County as a small girl. She was born Jan. 29, 1880, the daughter of Augustus and Sidney Cox Myers. She was married to Oscar Strouse in Clinton Feb. 13, 1900.
She was a member of the First Church of God.
Surviving Mrs. Strouse are her husband; her daughter; a sister, Mrs. Eva Bailey, of Mt. Pulaski; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
The body is in the Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, with burial in Maroa Cemetery."
