Mary Katherine 'Katie" Haynes (Landry)
Mary passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at McLaren Bay Region, age 90. She was born November 11, 1930 in Lansing, Michigan. She married the love of her life Harold L. Haynes on January 29, 1948 and were married for 63 years until his passing on May 11, 2011. Mary worked for several years at the Mill End Store in Bay City until her retirement. She loved sewing, embroidery, casino trips, bingo, maintaining her flowers and baking cookies for her grandchildren. Mary was also an avid reader, keeping her mind full of knowledge all the way up to the day she passed away.
Surviving is her daughter Valerie Lenarsic, one daughter-in-law Susan Haynes, five grandchildren: Andy, Matt, Scott, Cora and Krys, eleven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one brother-in-law Abe (Juanita) Lincoln, one sister-in-law Sally (Ron) Palmer, many nieces, nephews, and Mary's best friend from way back at T.L. Handy High School Shirley Foco. Mary was predeceased by her parents Oral E. and Evelyn W. (Worden) Anker, one son Terry Haynes, one son-in-law James Lenarsic, one great grandson Austen Davis Lenarsic, four brothers-in-law: Harry Haynes, Richard Haynes, Archie (Helen) Francis and Harry (Marie) Spychalski and one sister-in-law Evelyn Goulet.
Mary's daughter Valerie would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Bay County Medical Care Facility for all of their kind and compassionate care they gave Mary during her time while with them.
Per Mary's wish, cremation will take place. No visitation or services will be held at Squires Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery.
