She married James Adcock 27 Jun 1868 in Boone County, Iowa. The had only two children, Emma J., and a child that died young and was never on a census.

Samantha E. Ullery was born in Knox County, Ohio, January 27, 1846, and died at her home in Ogden, Boone county Iowa, September 13, 1904, aged 58 years, 6 months and 16 days. From Knox county she moved to Boone county in 1865. She was united in marriage to James Adcock, July 6, 1868. To this union was born two daughters, one dying in early childhood, the other, is Mrs. William Bakely of Ogden. She leaves one daughter and two grand-daughters, Robin and Grace Bakley to mourn her loss; also four sisters and four brothers, two of her sisters being present at her death. Her husband died April 19, 1902. She was for many years a faithful member of the M.E. church and was faithful to attend services as long as her health would permit. The funeral services were held at the M.E. church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Hancox, assisted by Rev. Hooker of the Congregational church, and Rev. Brandstrum of the Swedish Mission church, after which the remains were laid to rest in Glenwood cemetery.
