George Aspinwall
George Matthew Aspinwall of Cooperstown RD, succumbed to a heart attack at 4:30 Thursday morning of last week at his farm home. He had suffered from heart trouble previously.
Born at New Lisbon September 15, 1857, son of Matthew and Arvilla (Gardner) Aspinwall. The deceased was married about 1880 to Miss Delia Ottaway at Milford. He was a member of the Westville Baptist Church, to which he devoted much time and service, being a deacon forty-four years. He was fond of reading.
Mr. and Mrs. Aspinwall lived their entire married life in the vicinity of Cooperstown, and for the past forty years they had resided at their present home.
Surviving are the widow; two sons, Glenn M. Aspinwall of Cooperstown, and Paul D. Aspinwall of Oneonta; two grandchildren, Charles Aspinwall of Middleburgh, and Miss Louise Aspinwall of Oneonta, and two nephews. They will have the sympathy of many friends.
Observances consisted of a prayer at the home Saturday at 1 o'clock, followed at 2 o'clock by the funeral in Westville Baptist church, with the Rev. Walter A. Miller, pastor, officiating, and burial at Westville Cemetery.
