Ruth Hostetter Smith, 84, of Lexington, Virginia, died Saturday, Augusts 7, 2021 at Havenwood Manor.
Born May 1, 1937 in West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Oakey Richard Hostetter and Cora Biggs Hostetter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Smith Sr., and her daughter, Betty Smith Higgins.
Ruth was a member of Ebenezer A. R. Presbyterian Church. She loved music and played music at various nursing homes.
Surviving are her children, Linda Abbott (Steve), Charles Lee Smith Jr. (Karen), Tammy Conner (Ronnie), and Pam Mace (Chris); sisters, Agnes Reynolds and Betty Lilly; eight grandchildren, Tracy, David, Shawn, Chris, Dustin, Taylor, Bre and Dylan; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 10 at New Monmouth Presbyterian Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Reynolds officiating.
