James Wesley Naylor, 79, of Danville, KY passed away at home on August 9, 2021. Born on March 17, 1942 in Lincoln County to the late Claude and Hattie Leigh Naylor. James worked in construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator for most of his life. He loved anything to do with cars. He enjoyed going to dirt track races at the Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY. He previously attended Blue Lick Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Naylor of Stanford, KY; two daughters, Sue Naylor of Danville, KY and Kimberly Naylor of Danville, KY; three sisters, Sue Cook (Ronnie) of Stanford, KY, Angie Caudill (Everett) of Shelbyville, KY and Brenda McQueary of Michigan; two grandsons, Jason Naylor , who James raised as his own son, and Ryan Manning (Faith); three great-granddaughters, Kali Daughtery, Chelsi Manning and Autumn Smith; one great-great-grandson, Kingston Manning; and several step-children, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Hattie Leigh Naylor, an infant son, James Wesley Naylor, Jr.; four brothers, Carl Naylor, Earl Naylor, Harold Naylor and Claude Naylor, Jr.; and two sisters, Thelma Naylor and Jodie Adkins.

Visitation has been scheduled for Friday, August 13, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Funeral will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
