Billye Bart Magruder Jr
Edwardsville - Billye Magruder of Edwardsville passed peacefully at Anderson Hospital at 3:24 pm on July 28th, 2021. Born July 19th, 1940 in Edwardsville, he was the eldest son of Billye B. And Julia (Menoni) Magruder Sr. He was a graduate of Edwardsville High School class of 1958. Billye married Carol Sue Patton on March 12th, 1966 in Meadowbrook Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are children Billye B. (Melissa) Magruder III of South Roxana, Diedra Magruder (Gary Fritzsche) of Worden Illinois, and Paul (Kimberly) Magruder of Staunton Illinois. Grandchildren Madalyn, Mazie, Kylee, Ty, Bryce, Tanner, Hattie and Waylon. Brothers Daniel(Peggy) Magruder of Edwardsville and Robert(Doty) Magruder of Caseyville. Billye was proceeded in death by his parents and youngest brother Richard Magruder.
He worked at Richard's Brick Company in Edwardsville for 49 years until he retired in 2009. Billye was a U.S. Army veteran and served as a M.P. in Munich Germany. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. Billye also enjoyed trap shooting, bowling, horse racing, Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey. He loved his family and his family loved him. Billye was sincere and never met a stranger.
Visitation for Billye Magruder will be August 2nd, 2021 from 10am until noon with service following at Saska Mateer Funeral Home in Edwardsville, Illinois. Burial will be at Roselawn Gardens in Bethalto Illinois immediately following the service.
Memorials can be made to the Anderson Hospital Auxiliary.
