Patsy Bishop Black, 76, of Chattanooga went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 12, 2021 after a short illness.

Born November 26, 1944 in Cartersville, GA to the late Youles and Dora Lee Kimbrell Bishop. Patsy was a graduate of Cassville High School in Cassville, GA.

She wore many hats during her life as homemaker, school cafeteria worker, Blackhorse employee and a funeral home greeter.

She was a Godly woman who loved the Lord and is now seeing Him face to face.

She loved her church family at Shield Baptist Church in Chickamauga, GA.

Patsy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Carlton Black; brother, Jimmy Bishop; and an infant son.

She is survived by two sons, Rusty (Michelle) Howell, Chattanooga; and Jody Howell, Adairsville, GA; six grandchildren, Cagney Howell, Maggie Howell, Amanda Howell, Heather (Luis) Bermeo, Grayson Howell, and Dakota Howell; brother, Roy (Norma) Bishop, Tacoma, WA; sister, Betty (Denver) Barrow, Glenville, GA; sister in law, Margaret Floyd, NC; four great-grandchildren; special friend, Stanley Bird, Chattanooga; many nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.

Services will be held Tuesday, August 17, at 12:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tony Vona officiating. Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Joey Lee, Bruce Trantham, Kerry Howell, Tracy Collum, Sol Collum, and Ricky Howell serving as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shield Baptist Church, 2684 N. Hwy 27, Chickamauga, GA 30707.
