Peter John Thede was the son of John H. and Catherine (Petersen) Thede. He married Anna Ewoldt on 7 Dec 1910.

Peter J. Thede, 73, formerly of 110 E. Columbia St., Davenport, died at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday in Clearview Sanitarium, Davenport, after an extended illness. Services are set for 1:30 p.m. Friday in Halligan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dixon, Iowa.

Born in Dixon, Mr. Thede married Anna Ewaldt Dec. 7, 1910 in Davenport. He had been president of the Dixon, Iowa bank for 44 years.

Surviving are his wife in Clinton; a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Marian) Shaff, Camanche, Iowa; a son, John E., Cloudcroft, N.M; five grandchildren; a brother, Henry R., Davenport, and four sisters, Mrs. Adolph Lensch, Mrs. John J. Engel, and Mrs. Urban F. Ott, all of Davenport, and Mrs. William Grace, Bennett.

The family requests that memorials be in the form of contributions to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
