Services for Allie M. Gatz were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from Wharton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Darrel Hardy, pastor, Alva First United Methodist Church officiating. Death came at Alva Share Medical Center May 7 at age 85.
Allie May was born the daughter of Mary Ellen (Kriby) and John Hendricks June 9, 1898 in Pratt County, Illinois. In 1904 the family moved to a farm southwest of Alva.
Mrs. Hendricks was married to Fred Gatz on Nov. 28, 1912 at Alva. Four children were born to the marriage. Death claimed Mr. Gatz on July 14, 1949. After marriage the couple farmed southwest of Alva and in 1945 thy moved to Alva to make their home.
She was a member of the Alva First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Gatz was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Nora Adams, Iva Bliss, Daisy Williamson and Ada Redinger, and two brothers, Willie and Elmer and one grandson, Jammie, and a daughter-in-law, Eva Gatz.
Survivors are two daughters and husbands, Clara and Bill Tiberghien of Alva, Rena and Bob Baxter of Wichita, Kansas; two sons, LeRoy and his wife Mary and Louis, all of Alva; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Nellie Brickman of Alva; a sister-in-law, Zona Hendricks of Enid; also a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Whartons here directed arrangements for the service and burial in Alva Municipal Cemetery.
