The old schoolhouse at Harmony Hollow was built in 1892 and remained in use until the 1950's. The building still stands, in remarkably good condition for its years of use. The building originally had windows on the front and rear sides but the windows on the back side of the building were boarded up and covered over with siding at some point. There were cloak rooms at both the front and the rear entrances of the building. The front door was the boys entrance and the rear door was the girls entrance.
The picture of Miss Effie was contributed by Hunter Vaught, Jr.
