Amber A. (Wood) Paterson, 94, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away March 11, 2009 at Lee's Summit Medical Center from Pneumonia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday March 14, 2009 at The Village Church, John Knox Chapel, Lee's Summit, MO. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to John Knox Village Church. Amber was born June 15, 1914 in Newtown, MO, to Ransom and Nora (Girdner) Wood. She was married to Mark E. Holbrook, David A. Dinsdale and Reverend Stuart A. Paterson Sr. Amber was employed at Lake City Arsenal as a secretary until retirement. She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star for many years. Amber was a resident of John Knox Village from its inception and she was a Charter Member of The Village Church at John Knox Village. Amber was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Frank and Noel Wood, and her husbands. She is survived by three nieces, Janet (Wood) Ford, Carolyn (Holbrook) Thiel and Sally (Holbrook) Hayes, two step-sons, Stu Paterson Jr. and Doug Paterson, two step-daughters, Jean (Dinsdale) Baldwin and Carol (Dinsdale) Worth. Amber is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, including, Lori Bledsoe who had been her primary caregiver and confidant for the last five years while she resided at the John Knox Village Care Center.
