Ouida Williamson, 76, of Corpus Christi, passed away October 12, 1997. She was born September 13, 1921 in Bayside, Texas to the late Bruce Claybourne Hood and Lula May Roberts Hood.
She was a retired business woman, being co-owner of Hood's Dress Shop, one of Corpus Christi's oldest women's fashion apparel stores. She retired in 1992, after being in business for 55 years. She was a member of Elidad Temple No. 134, Daughters of the Nile; she held several offices and served as Queen and became a Life member of the Temple. She received an Appointment at the Supreme Session.
She was a member of Oso Chapter No. 868 Order of the Eastern Star. She served several offices, on committees and was elected Worthy Matron, and received appointments from the Texas Grand Chapter and was honored with the appointment of Deputy Grand Matron, District V.
She was a member of the Zonta Club of Corpus Christi for 15 years. She served as President and volunteered many hours of community service.
She is survived by her son, Terry Williamson and wife, Debbie Williamson and grandsons, Ryan Williamson and Trey Williamson, all of Refugio, Texas; two brothers, Jack Hood of Alice, Texas and Don Hood of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Public visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 1997 at Seaside Funeral Home.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 1997 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Active Pallbearers will be Ryan Williamson, Trey Williamson, Jack Hood Jr., Mike Hood, Robin Moore and Bruce Birmingham.
