Miss Stiles was 77 years old. She was born in Shady Grove, near Smithland, in Lincoln County, Tennessee. She was one of a family of ten children, three of whom survive her. She was a devout member of the Winchester Church of Christ.
"Aunt Fannie," as she was affectionately known to many, was greatly beloved by a wide scope of friends and relatives. She was gentle, kind and thoughtful, a good neighbor, and a true friend. Her relatives recalled that she had expressed the desire that she might die "in the harness." She reared to manhood her nephew, Jess Baldwin, now living in Pensacola, Florida.
The funeral service was conducted from the residence Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, by the Rev. Hugo Allmond, of the Church of Christ. Interment at Winchester Cemetery.
